US reaches five million confirmed solar energy setups
According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the United States has reached a new clean energy milestone by completing its five millionth solar panel installation.
Delivering energy resilience and lowering household running costs, America’s appetite for solar energy is driven by the residential sector: 97% of panels operate on rooftops in sunlight-rich states like California, Florida and Illinois.
This growth is far from reaching its peak: only 7% of households are currently solar-equipped. The SEIA predicts that installations will double to ten million by 2030 — and triple by 2035.
TikTok explores new strategy: one hour videos
Masters of ultra short-format content creation, TikTok is piloting a new idea which allows its creators to upload hour-long videos.
Starting at just 15 seconds in 2018, TikTok has been expanding its time limits ever since.
In an effort to test YouTube’s well-established dominance in long-form videos, TikTok wants to find out if it can hold users’ attention for longer periods of time, opening up a world of new growth opportunities for the platform.
The one-hour function is currently available to a limited number of content creators in select markets.
Does the new ChatGPT rip off Scarlett Johansson’s voice?
“Shocked and angered”: a complaint by the Hollywood A-lister has forced the world’s best known AI to put its latest innovation on hold.
Johansson says OpenAI founder Sam Altman had previously approached her to voice ChatGPT's text-to-speech product, but that she declined the offer.
In Altman’s defense, a statement from ChatGPT says the voice '“is not an imitation of Scarlett Johansson but belongs to a different professional actress using her own natural speaking voice.”
Regardless, ChatGPT has disabled the function without indicating when it may return.
